A normal travel day.
A quick bathroom break in the cleanest bathrooms at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
The Delta Sky Club, D Terminal.
Her name is Carolyn.
She created the most positive experience- she was singing, laughing, smiling and absolutely enjoying her day and her job. She greeted every single customer as if they were walking into her home or church. She made everyone smile. She made everyone talk to one another.
She took sad business women, tired from managing life and made them look up and beyond their own thoughts. She broke through the invisible barriers we each create in public busy spaces – she encountered our souls.
She owned her position. She drastically changed the environment. She maintained the women’s restroom – and after each guest concluded, she made sure the next guest entered a perfect space.
She cared about her role. She cared about the position she was in. She cared about the people who crossed her path. She made a difference and impact in my life. I knew her for less than ten minutes. And I pray I never forget her and the way she made me feel.
Carolyn, you change the world.
May I leave the same powerful mark on those I encounter in the space I own.
